Autumn Update

A path in a forest, drawn in black and white.

In July Immersive Tales piloted taking children out of the class room and into heritage buildings to attend story writing workshops.  This was done with the support of Fydell House in Boston Lincolnshire and Greyfriars and Central Library in Lincoln.

The younger children did a one day workshop where they created a story together and the older children a 2 day workshop where they each wrote a story.  Their teachers walked them to the venues and stayed to support them.

It was brilliant to see how they responded to working in a different environment (one with chandeliers) and the enthusiasm with which they worked.

The results are now on our website (Fydell House Stories  & Greyfriars Stories) and they have also been printed as paperback books and all the children have been given a copy.

The work was supported by the venues who welcomed the children.  An added bonus has been that Fydell House saw some of the children visit the house again with their families during the school summer holidays.

On 24th September Immersive Tales had a stand at Boston Bookfest which enabled us to show the children’s work to a wider public and to meet some of their parents.

More workshops are planned for the autumn.
