Immersive Tales works in disadvantaged areas to develop children’s literacy skills.

We run sessions that teach children creative writing through the use of sensory equipment. These sessions help children bring their own stories to life in the classroom.

Immersive runs sessions primarily for children between years 4 and 6, led by a tutor in creative writing and a sensory expert. We work with a school’s existing technology and add some additional sensory equipment to create an immersive experience that helps children build their vocabularies and grow their imaginations.

The children’s stories are shared with their families and the wider community at a celebration event where professional actors read some of the stories. The events help build relationships between the school and its community.

Children in classroom writing

“Before the workshop, there was one child wouldn’t write more than one sentence. They wrote an entire story.”

“Before the workshop, there was one child wouldn’t write more than one sentence. They wrote an entire story.”

Our work builds children’s confidence in their ability to create stories, develops a love of books and stories, increases their vocabularies and offers them a chance to show pride in what they have achieved.

Our aim is to help more children reach their potential by supporting them at the earliest possible stage of their education. We help them express their ideas in writing and give them confidence in their own ability to create.

“Before this workshop I didn’t know that I could even write a story.”

Child writing and dreaming

We also show schools how they can create immersive classrooms at low cost to support future learning.
